SUGAR FREE KETO GLAZED HAM
A killer Blood Orange Sugar Free Keto Glazed Ham recipe that will have you enjoying your ham this Christmas without the sugar! No one will know your little secret.
- 1/4 cup butter 60g
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger finely minced
- 1/4 cup gold sweetener I use Sukrin Gold or Lakanto Gold
- Zest and juice of 1 blood orange or navel orange
- 1/4 cup Chicken Bone Broth 60g
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons coconut aminos 36g
- Cloves for decorating
Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan-forced).
Run a small sharp knife over the flap of skin on the ham. Using your fingers, separate skin from fat. Remove and discard skin. Lightly score the ham all over in a diamond pattern.
Place ham in a baking dish with any vegetables or herbs (if preferred). Cover with foil. Bake for 1 hour.
Meanwhile to make glaze; melt butter in a small saucepan over moderate heat. Add ginger; sauté until fragrant (about 1 minute).
Add the sweetener and stir for about 1-2 minutes or until sweetener has dissolved.
Stir through remaining ingredients and simmer until the sauce has reduced to a thick glaze. Reserve.
Remove ham from oven and decorate with cloves. Brush with glaze and return to the oven.
Bake ham for a further 45min – 1 hour glazing every 15-20 minutes. Bake until warm through and evenly caramelised.
Rest ham for 20 minutes before slicing and serving.
